Wild About...: Nature Strips

FROM BATS TO SCATS....

What is it about us humans? When we move into a place we want to modify it, manicure it and manipulate it until all that was beautiful is lost. In Sydney and around Australia, we've scraped away the native biodiversity and replaced it with a mongrel montage. Suburbia heaves with a uniform mixture of foreign plants and exotic weeds. All is not quite lost yet though. There are miraculous native animals and plants that still cling to life here. Let's re-wild our own spaces "as nature intended". And let's help save what's left! (Just don't let me ever use the word "sustainable" though !)
